Steamboat Sultana Images

There are two common 19th century images of the Sultana — one a rather poor photograph showing the overcrowded condition on the steamboat and the other a news artists rendition of the disaster from the May 20, 1865 Harper's Weekly.

(Click on any of the images to see a larger version.)

This is the most commonly found image of the ship.
This is an enhanced version of the first image (using Pain Shop Pro XI, version 11.20)
This artist's version was clearly derived from the photograph.

Harper's Weekly image - the top image was scanned from the newspaper and only slighted enhanced.  The lower image has been enhanced even more.
